Who is Common Scents and Gifts, Inc.?

Well, first let me tell you a little bit about the history Common Scents.

Common Scents first opened in Port Jefferson in the early 70's as a card/gift and bath & body shop carrying such names as Caswell-Massey and Crabtree & Evelyn. During this time, the concept of "custom scenting" was just being introduced to the market and Common Scents was one of the first companies to bring the product and idea to New York. That's how such scents as China Rain(tm), Egyptian Musk, China Musk and Rain became so popular. To this day, these products are still VERY popular; and, it's no wonder that after 32 years, we're still pouring them.

Although Common Scents has been through several changes over the past few years (we are now officially known as Common Scents & Gifts, Inc), we've never left Port Jefferson and are still located on Main Street. We've moved inside the Harbor Square Mall; but, are still in the heart of the village. We're going greener, simplyfying, and concentrating more on Handmade Bath & Body Products rather than gifts and cards. We've introduced The Lotion Bar as our way of starting this process and hope to become a one-stop made-fresh-while-you wait bath & body shop, specializing in soy-based products.
